However, I continued to attend Cuesta in the fall, and Hancock in the spring. Life happened and a road bump redirected me to become an English major. In the Spring I attended Hancock College in Santa Maria to save the gas, but there was still an awesome baseball team. So between water polo, school, and work there wasn’t a lot of “personal time.” I didn’t care though because I was doing what I loved. However, the commute was an hour there everyday.

I started as a kinesiology major, and was determined to be the trainer for a professional baseball team someday. In fall of 2002 I started going to Cuesta Community College in San Luis Obispo because of water polo, and they had an awesome baseball team. Since I would be paying for my college education, this was important. Just make sure to enroll in time for the semester.

Not to mention you don’t have to apply to get it. When I first started college back in 2002 I chose to go to a Junior College first so I would get my general education classes out of the way for less money. When I looked at my college career I began to think to myself. Going to college is definitely one of the bigs ones. Since I have been applying for jobs I have been reflecting on all of the things I have accomplished in my life. Retail has career paths I can follow and climb up the ladder, benefits in tact. I have years of experience under my belt already. I can’t stand to be limited to living locations due to the type of work I would be doing. Working retail will give me the ability to live anywhere in the country, and I love that I will have this freedom. I am going to see where this path takes me. I love being on top of current trends, and being able to dress nice at work, and it not be a uniform. I love to be on my feet, and be able to go home at the end of the day and relax. I adore clothes and helping people pick them out. Looking back at my life I realized that I enjoyed working retail more then I enjoyed school. I did get to be a hostess of my own video game review show, make music videos, have my own radio show(which I had been dreaming about since I was 8), I was in dance productions, and became comfortable working with cameras.(in front of them, and behind them.) At least I now know that entertainment is not the place for me. I am ecstatic that I chased the entertainment route because it was a choice I made that I followed through on. Modeling jobs and hostess jobs have been offered to me, but there is just a burning feeling deep inside of me that says “No.” It’s flattering to have been offered these jobs because it let me know my work wasn’t in vein. Now, I love working and working hard, but at what cost? I have proven to myself that I can get work in the entertainment business. You have no time for the people you love. But, I have found that I don’t care for the way you end up living your life with careers like that. or radio hostess, or some sort of performance art. I thought that I wanted to work in the entertainment business for the longest time. I'd sing a song off it.After 9 years of college, and chasing my dream, I have found I need to re-dream. If I could only find a note to make you understand I used to, used to, used to that, I'm over thatĬos holding. "look Travie, I can handle that"įurthermore I apologize for any skipping tracksĬuz this last girl who played me left a couple of cracks Would you blow me off and play me like everybody else?Īnd if I asked you to scratch my back, could you manage that? If I was just another dusty record on the shelf
